The Hazards of open toed footwear.

My Friends,
Finally, the post you've all been waiting for!
I present to you, the highly educational, "HAZARDS OF OPEN TOED FOOTWEAR'' short film.
Please inform your family, friends, neighbours of the hazards by forwarding them this link.
I have spent WAY too much time on this for it to go unnoticed..

Many thanks to those Aucklander's whose toes unwittingly have starred in this film.
Yours ever hopefully,

Rhondah.

thanks rhonda
you are always looking out for my health and safety. I doubt the makers of open toed high heels are worried about me at all.

but you never mentioned the risk of contracting foot fungus when your toes are exposed (rhyme out!). just another reason to avoid such footwear all together.

You will be pleased to hear Rhonda, that I don't own any hazardous open toe footwear...unless jandles count...do jandles count?

with much appreciation

Dear Rhondah
As a true blew kiwi child, I am enamoured with my Romans. So thus I am distraught to come across your stark warnings.
what should I do???

Have you any suggestions for encasing my toes, whilst still keeping my Romans above water?

I fear I am being foolish, but perhaps there is hope.

rhonda,
i fear not only for those poor souls that wear the open toes, but alas, also those who wear the crop top (exposing the midrif) and the 3/4 legnth pant. (exposing the ankle. )
Is the unitard the only option, (lycra) or are there others?
I'm worried sick.
stubbs.

My dearest AFL supporters. I will try to address your concerns one by one. I am glad you are taking this matter seriously.
Firstly, with a matter of foot fungus.. I admit I am no expert on this subject, but have a vague idea that IF you are wearing open toed sandals in a backpacker hostel or camping ground, the risk is 10 FOLD!
Not sure why.

Ok.. and Bella, Jandals are a NZ icon, and how can the anti-fashion league deal with the huge public uproar if I were to condemn their usage on my blog? I would no doubt be lynched by my lace up boots.

Mat..I know you love your romies, as mentioned in a previous blog comment.. but, in the end it's up to you. You know the risks, you've probably felt the consequences. The choice is in your hands. Or rather, on your feet.

And weather...
The lycra unitard is a very safe option and I would reccomend wearing one if you have one. However midriff and ankle exposure are not the the same category as toe.. they are not so close to hazardous walking surfaces such as broken glass, eggshell, or rough concrete.
